About Fathom
Fathom was an online education company, founded by Columbia University and Ann Kirschner in 1999, in partnership with a distinguished consortium of 14 leading educational, cultural, and research institutions:

Fathom's partners included the BBC, AARP, and Elderhostel, and it was prominently featured on AOL, Encarta, Britannica, and NYTimes.com.
